"In Tochu, we declare ""Responsibility, Honest, and Cooperation"" as our company's motto, and aim at achievement goal ""everyone's happiness and company's flourish"" under management idea.

Since our company motto, and quality and environmental policy have common ideas with 17 goals which are declared in SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) which UN adopt in 2015, we believe that we can contribute SDGs achievements by our business activities.

We consider SDGs as ""the situation which we should be by 2030"" and we decided on ""solution of social issue throughout business activities"" and ""management basics which support for activities"" as priority missions. From now on, Tochu set up KPI, long-term goal. However, each of Tochu workers also own goals as ""MY SDGs"", and think, act, and continuously do challenges by themselves, in order to achieve SDGs and management basics.

Tochu tackle with SDGs achievement by activities of not only main business, sand, but also casting material, casting business, and new business to achieve sustainable social."

What is the SDGs(Sustainable Developments Goals)?

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (the 2030 Agenda) is a set of international development goals from 2016 to 2030, which was adopted by the UN Sustainable Development Summit held in September 2015 building on the success of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

The 2030 Agenda listed "Sustainable Development Goals" consisting of 17 goals and 169 targets in order to eradicate poverty and realize a sustainable world. The SDGs are universal goals applicable, not only to developing countries but also developed countries, and pledge "Leave no one behind." through the implementation process.

Japan makes utmost efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda with international community based on the concept of human security.

Promotion Committee of reduction of carbon dioxide emission

Our goal: Decline by 30% CO₂ emission

We decided goals which reducing 30% emission of CO₂ (compared with 2018) until 2030 and, in order to make specific reduction plans until 2024, start the project which is focused on enhance of in-house structure aiming at "the operating system we can check the amount of emission" and "use of renewable power generation".

Our goal: Improvement recycling rate for resources.

Manufacturing of paper consume not only water, but also plenty of energy, and affects nature. Moreover, in terms of car that our employments use, we introduce cars that have clean technologies such as Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle, Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle, hybrid car and Electric Vehicle, and tackle with nature preservation.

We involved on casting sand business and successes in development of recycled sand. We declare our motto," always sand dream Thing next the new" and aim at development of new Eco-friendly items.

Our goal: sales promotion of products of environmental loading reduction.

Resin coated sand (RCS) business which is one of our main ones. We promote to sale RCS which is environmental loading reduction to not only make better working environment, but also reduction of waste and reuse of sand, then contribute on impact of human body, resources saving.

※RCS is silica sand covered with resin, and it is mainly used as a material for manufacturing sand molds (cores).

Our goal: Increase opportunities for women who would like to work

We break the stereotype which men is majority of workers in casting and silica business, and we declare " aim at manufacturing industry which properly uses women's own abilities, and create working opportunities for women, and build a career system aiming at promoting to administrative positions. We improve work situations where women comfortably work and provide workplaces where everyone can actively work.

For people who their domestic social situations become worse, or would like to learn specific skills in Japan, we create situations where they can get not only sand knowledge but also skills of aluminum component manufacture and iron or steles casting.

For people who have obstacles because of congenital or accidents, we provide internships which is connecting with future adoption. We contribute on social by giving working places where they can earn salary by themselves and independent.

Our goal: Educate employees who can solve mattersFoster the method of QC activities

Some challenges and issues, such as replacements of the machines which are used for long periods or establish new facility which enhanced percentages of energy, are appeared. Therefore, we built QC activities education systems as in-house trainings. Moreover, simultaneously educate employees who can cope with repairments and introduction of new facilities.
